After speaking with dozens of bike commuters, recreational bikers, utility cyclists and bike messengers, many bike related pain points surfaced. One common inconvenience experienced when biking rather than driving was lack of a secure storage space on the bike. With personal experience and the input of other cyclists, I set out the following design goals: safety of bag contents, expandable capacity, security of the bag itself, compatibility with all standard bike racks and comfortable carrying options while off of the bike.
